‘At the Shrine of Othrys’ Update #3: Funded!

'At the Shrine of Othrys' Kickstarter Preview
$0.00

This free publication provides an overview of the Kickstarter campaign for “At the Shrine of Othrys,” a fun, detailed, and compelling 5th Edition D&D adventure designed to take a party of characters from 1st to 4th level! It includes descriptions for nine reward levels, more than two-dozen colorful stretch goals, samples of images by artists Bob Greyvenstein, Art Gowie, and Amanda Kahl that will appear in the final publication, and two new monsters, the Lightning Mephit and Lightning Mephit Stormrider.

This project overall will include a complete dungeon, entries for two-dozen new monsters, maps and encounter tables for the wilderness area around Mount Othrys, a detailed novella-length campaign report, and a complete pregenerated character party. It is also intended to both lay the groundwork for and provide a storyteller with the resources needed to continue the campaign into upper levels.

“At the Shrine of Othrys” begins in the rugged foothills surrounding ominous Mount Othrys, located in a desolate wilderness on the Greek mainland and the legendary headquarters of the Titans during their war with the gods. Characters have learned about the presence of an ancient shrine that has lain untouched and hidden beneath the hills for a century and, even as cultists respond to a call-to-arms and converge on it, set out to explore it. Lost knowledge, treasure, and a chance to strike a blow against chaos and evil await those brave and canny enough to find and breach the cyclopean portals that guard this grim place …

Thanks to the 112 people who have thus far backed Skirmisher Publishing's Kickstarter campaign for our “At the Shrine of Othrys” fantasy RPG and fiction project and funded it 100% exactly one week after we launched it! We will now be able to move ahead with giving this adventure the special treatment we have envisioned for it and which we hint at in the 14-page preview of “At the Shrine of Othrys” that we have made available as a free download at the Skirmisher Shop.

We are now able to move forward with unlocking the two-dozen colorful and exciting stretch goals we have created to tie in with and complement this project. All will be accompanied by custom illustrations, including ones by fantasy artists Bob Greyvenstein and Amanda Kahl, and maps if appropriate, including ones by artists Wilhelmina T. Thrasher and Art Gowie. Material tying in directly with “At the Shrine of Othrys” will be included in an expanded edition of that book and self-standing ones will be provided as separate PDF publications.

If we reach $4,000 we will unlock our first stretch goal and be able to commission dungeon cartographer Wilhelmina T. Thrasher to provide full-color rather than black-and-white maps of the interior areas that will appear in the Shrine of Othrys.

Thanks again to those of you who have already supported this project! Please help spread the word about it so that no one who might be interested in it will miss out. And if you have not yet backed “At the Shrine of Othrys” please check it out and consider coming on board with this beautiful and ambitious collaboration by our top game developers, writers, and artists!
